Y712 Patented .54 Hunt and Jennings Self Propelled Cartridge
Description: Here is a very scarce .54 Hunt and Jennings Rocket Ball Cartridge. This was patented by Walter Hunt in 1848. The powder is encapsulated behind the cork on the base. You can clearly see that the cork/interior of the bullet has swollen around the bottom section and been glued back in. This variant doesn't have the patent date on the side and there are a few different length varieties that were produced. This one is a little rougher than the last one we sold and is priced accordingly.
