Z5170 Union Metallic Cartridge Company Artillery Friction Primer (No. 1)

Description: Short artillery friction primer known as the No. 1 size manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. This short size has an overall length of 1.202" with a tube diameter of .185". This is the shortest variety that I have seen and right out of an original tin. These were used during the late Indian War period on up through the Spanish American War.
