Z5177 Patented Parkhurst Feeding Case for the Gardner Gun

Description: Here is a very nice and complete box for use with a .45 two-barrel Gardner Gun. This was designed around the new feed system patented by Edward G. Parkhurst. Each box contained 20 .45-70 cartridges. A wooden block was placed in the center of the box and held in place by one tack on each side. The cardboard dividers separated each individual cartridge. One issue with loading the gun was keeping the cartridges in line with the feed system. This patented cartridge box not only kept them in line but allowed one to open the box and hold the cartridges in places without dropping a single one. The jointed wooden divider slides as you load the feeder increasing speed and consistency in the field. This box is still intact containing 20 tinned .45-70 cartridges. The box itself is lightly soiled but intact. There are a few lightly split seams, and the patent sticker is still affixed to the bottom.

Headstamp: Impressed "F / 3 / 92"
