Z4553 60-Bore Sharps Sporting Rifle Cartridge
Description: Very nice 60-Bore or .44 paper cartridge used in the Model 1849 or 1850 Sharps sporting rifles. This example has a pointed lead bullet with two exposed lead bands. The powder charge is contained within the paper tube and tied to the base of the bullet. Some refer to this as a "ringtail” or "tie-ring” Sharps. This example is mint and right out of a packet. There are a couple of lead lines on the base of the paper tube where cartridges in the packet were stacked in the opposite direction. This would look great in any early paper cartridge collection!
