Z2424 Unidentified "SG” Militia Coat Button

Description: Here is a very nice one-piece Militia coat button that would date to the 1820’s-1840’s. This example has an eagle with wings spread over "S.G” over an oval laurel wreath. There is a little bit of gilt in the recesses. The stand-up shank is intact and slightly bent.

Backmark: "*******" rm between solid rings

Measures: 20.85 mm

Recovered: Non-Excavated

Reference: Albert's UU101, Tice UM228A1
