Z7346 British Pewter "PN” Coat Button
Description: Very nice British "PN” marked one-piece pewter coat button. I don’t believe anyone has been able to positively identify the maker of these buttons, but they are recovered from sites dating from the French & Indian War up through the Revolutionary War. They aren’t specific to any area but are found up and down the east coast as well as England.
This is a very nice, excavated button. It has a clean face and back and is missing the integrally cast shank. The edges are a little rough but there isn’t a lot of pewter loss. The body has a very slight curve to it. The "PN” on the back is crisp!
Backmark: "PN” rm
