Z4395 .50 Gallager Carbine Cartridge (Poultney's Patent #40,988 / December 15, 1863 / Paper & Foil)
Description: Nice Civil War Gallager cartridge. The projectile in these cartridges is known as a .50 Smith pattern for use in the Gallager carbine. This cartridge has a few dents in the side walls of the cartridge which is common for these based on the thin brass foil used in manufacturing. This example is right out of an original packet.
