Z5078 British Button with Old English Script "FN"
Description: Nice, excavated button with a perfect stand-up shank. This one has the letters "FN" on the face in Old English. Tice's dating buttons book has George and Henry Bullivant listed as working in Birmingham England from 1845-1909. I would say based on the design; this example would date to the 19th century and is probably a "Hunt" button of some type.
Backmark: "G&H BULLIVANT / BIRMINGHAM" rm
Measures: 16.55
Recovered: Unknown
Reference: Tice "Dating Buttons" Pg. 149 (1845-1909)
