Description: Very rare cartridge manufactured with a paper tube and a leather perforated base. This patent was awarded to William Marston and Frederick Goodell under Patent No. 8,956 dated May 18, 1852. These cartridges were manufactured in a variety of common calibers including a shot shell. Top notch example of a very scarce cartridge!
