Z5169 .31 Volcanic Cartridge (Brass & Cork)
Description: Very nice non-excavated example with all components attached. These were known as the No. 1 cartridge which employed the brass cap, cork wafer, and iron anvil. These would have been manufactured after December of 1855. This example has a slightly oxidized body and the brass insert cap is at a slight angle. These come in two sizes, the .31 and .41. This would make a great addition to any Civil War cartridge collection!
