Z5444 Civil War .577 Enfield Cartridge (1862)
Description: Decent original .577 Enfield cartridge manufactured by Eley of London for the P-53 Enfield. This example was removed from a packet of cartridges dated 1862. The exact packet is pictured in the listing but doesn’t come with this cartridge. These were manufactured in England and imported by both US and CS forces. This cartridge has a single cut mark alongside the projectile which corresponds to the single cut line after the word "WAX” on the packet. This allowed the bullet to easily be extracted from the paper tube. This cartridge is complete but there is one large crack extending from the slice and one very small crack on the backside.
Measures: D .592” OAL 3.076"
