Z5776 British Royal Marines Coat Button
Description: Decent one-piece pewter enlisted man’s button with a slightly convex face. The iron shank is missing on this example. It appears to be a water recovery as the pewter is in very nice shape with little to no edge loss. The face does have some wear and is slightly wavy. You can clearly see the anchor in the middle with "Royal Marines” across the top. The wreath borders the edge around the bottom. This style of button is known as the 1802 or 1803 pattern depending on where you look. A very nice War of 1812 era relic!
