Z5885 Dupont FFG Blackpowder Keg, 6 ¼ lbs.

Description: Decent large size keg that would have originally contained 6.25 lbs. of black powder. The bottom label has the ship flanked by two cannons with "BLACK POWDER” stenciled across the label. The bottom label reads as follows: "E.I. DUPONT DE NEMOURS & COMPANY / ESTABLISHED 1802 / WILMINGTON, DEL. U.S.A. / MANUFACTURERS OF EXPLOSIVES OF EVERY KIND.” The label is intact. The top oval label says FFG over DUPONT. Overall, the tin is in nice shape with no major dents. There are a few small negligible dings here and there. The lid does not unscrew but may be coerced with some penetrating oil. It appears this keg was originally red and painted green for black powder use. This one is empty!
