Z5929 .58 Musket Cartridge, St. Louis Arsenal 1864
Description: Very nice example of the .58 paper cartridge used during the American Civil War. This example is straight out of an original packet of St. Louis Arsenal cartridges dated 1864. There is still dust in the creases that can be brushed off. The .58 paper cartridge was used in the M1855, M1861, and M1863 rifled muskets and was the most widely used cartridge type during the war. I have included a photo of the original packet and contents which are not included. Unfortunately, the packet was damaged too badly to save. This would make a great addition to any Civil War cartridge collection!
