Description: Nice silver British War Medal with the suspension bar intact. This example has wear to the front, back, and sides with light scratches from polishing. It’s ID’D to a Private Shagga Bangura of the West African Regiment. His regiment number is 2472.

The British War Medal was authorized in 1919. It was awarded to personnel who were in a theater of war or provided approved service during WWI. Those who served in Russia between 1919 and 1920 were also qualified for this award.

Stamped on Edge: "2472 PTE SHAGGA BANGURA W AFR R”
