Description: Nice silver British War Medal with the suspension bar intact. This example has wear to the front, back, and sides. It’s ID’D to a Private Penna Kailahun of the Sierra Leone Battalion. His Regiment number is 3550 and is worn off on the edge.

The British War Medal was authorized in 1919. It was awarded to personnel who were in a theater of war or provided approved service during WWI. Those who served in Russia between 1919 and 1920 were also qualified for this award.

Stamped on Edge: "PTE PENNA KAILAHUN S-L BN”
