Z6093 British Royal Artillery Button (1831-1840)
Description: Decent excavated example of a Royal Artillery button. This style dates to the 1831-1840 period. It features three left facing cannons with a crown at the top. It is a one-piece high-convex example with a brass loop shank. Based on the crown at the top, I would suspect this would be from the early to mid-1830’s. Alexandria Victoria was Queen from 1837-1901 and the crown would inevitably change under her rule.
Backmark: Illegible due to dirt.
Measures: 20.59 mm
Reference: "Shoulder-Belt Plates and Buttons” Parkyn Pg. 54-57
