Z6241 .44 Henry Rimfire Cartridge, Long Case, Ira Paine (H)

Description: Nice .44 Henry rimfire cartridge known to collectors as the "Ira Paine” cartridge with an extended case. These are reportedly for indoor or gallery shooting. Some say they were a special order for "Ira Paine.” This example has a raised "H” headstamp and was manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. It has a roundball seated just below the first neck with a cardboard wad on top. The distance between the top of the case and the top of the wad is .474” in length. One side of the case is shiny, and the other side has a dark patina.

Headstamp: Raised "H” within an impressed circle.

Measures: OAL 1.330” RD .518” HD .440”
