Description: Decent .50 Remington "Army” pistol cartridge converted to a commercial shot cartridge. These were manufactured by or for W.S.K. Stokes Kirk of New York. The bullet was replaced with a long wooden sabot filled with lead shot. These are Benet-primed centerfire cartridges. One of the few .50 pistol cartridges to collect. This is an excellent example of how to turn military surplus into a practical commercial cartridge!
