Z6405 .30-40 Krag Rifle Ammunition Crate Dated 1904
Description: Nice original crate for .30-40 Krag ammunition with original lid. This wooden crate measures 18” x 13” x 8” with the 1” lid included. One of the side lifting bars is missing. Each side is stamped "5-24-1902.” There are two seals on the bottom marked "Frankford Arsenal US.” This example still retains the original lid with a single glued seam that appears to be period. This box was shipped from the San Antonio Arsenal to the Adjutant General of Illinois in 1904. An excellent display piece for your Krag! The top reads as follows:
