Z6488 84 Gauge Tranter Revolver Cartridge "Hayes Patent”

Description: Decent .36 Hayes’ Patent cartridge for the 84 gauge or .36 Tranter revolver. This is a treated "skin” cartridge wrapped in a paper envelope cartridge with a linen pull string. These were imported to the Confederacy during the American Civil War. This example slides out of the case. It has the desirable blue wrap that reads, "Capt. M. Hayes' , R.N. Patent Skin Cartridge Manufactured by Broux & Moll, London." Nice example with some paper loss. The words "38 Skin” are written on the base of the cartridge.
