Description: Very nice, early 1900’s Marine Corps coat button. This is a convex, two-piece example with a perfect shank. This button has 13 stars over and an eagle holding a fouled anchor. McGuinn & Bazelon state that the American Button Company "Began making uniform buttons in 1901 per letter in the US National Museum Collections. The factory burned in 1917 & the company ceased to exist in 1920." Nice example with the stand-up shank intact.
