Description: Decent excavated one-piece pewter button with an Arabic "49” on the center of the face. This is the pewter version known as the other ranks or enlisted men button. There is edge loss towards the top of the button and this example was reshanked with a copper loop at some point. It has a very low-convex face that is slightly wavy.
