Z6843 Tinned .54 Burnside Cartridge
Description: Very nice .54 Burnside carbine cartridge with tin plating. These are thought to have been manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal for the 2nd Model carbines. This example is very nice and still retains quite a bit of tin plating. There are a few very small nominal dents on the Foster’s Patent grease groove. There is one very tiny mark on the nose of the bullet. This is one of the harder Burnside cartridges to find!
Measures: OAL 2.332”
Reference: "Round Ball to Rimfire” Thomas Vol. 2 Pg. 21 No. 359
Recovered: Ex. George Murphy Collection
