Z7035 Gardner Patent Winchester No. 10 N.P.E. Shotshell (10A)
Description: Nice 10 Ga. or No. 10 new primed empty shotshell manufactured by Winchester under John Gardner’s Patent. U.S. Patent No. 226, 167 was awarded on April 6, 1880, and assigned to The Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut. These brass shotshells have an internal choke built into the end of the case. This acted like a shot concentrator or choke if you were hunting with a shotgun without a choke. In short, it was one of the ways to make your gun more versatile. A nice example with a No. 2 brass primer.
