Description: Nice one-piece Massachusetts militia coat button. Tice states, "These common buttons were made in Britain during the 1820’s. The face has the Massachusetts arms on a lined field with a ribbon marked, "MASSACHUSETTS” across the bottom. A nicely toned example with the shank ground off at some point.
