Z7253 .45-70 Marlin "Board Dummy” Cartridge by W.R.A.Co.
Description: Decent .45-70 Marlin wood rod "board dummy” cartridge by Winchester. These used a .45-70 U.S.G. case and were manufactured for use with the Marlin Model 1881 lever-action rifle. These were offered in the Winchester catalogue in 1884 and were gone by 1917. This example has a flat nose lead bullet, a 2.1” brass case, and a #1 oval copper primer. This example is in decent shape with two holes on the board side. The case has spotting with some larger oxidation spots near the head and around the board holes. The headstamp is highlighted with white out.
