Z7317 Eley Bros. .380 Rimfire Cartridge/Ammunition Tin

Description: Decent early tin that once contained fifty .380 or .38 rimfire cartridges manufactured by Eley Brothers of London. This would be a pre-1874 tin. In March of 1874 Eley Brothers became Eley Brothers Limited. The tin is intact and free of dents. There are rust spots here and there which is common. The label is partially intact, and the brittle paper is loose around the edges. The lid corner seams are unsoldered, and the bottom corner seams are soldered. A very nice pre-1874 ammunition tin!

The label reads as follows:

WATERPROOF

RIM-FIRE PISTOL CARTRIDGES

WITH CONICAL BULLETS

ELEY BROS., MANUFACTURERS, LONDON.

These cartridges should be used greased to insure accurate

shooting, and the correct action of the pistol.
