Z7321 .40-90 Sharps Necked "Board Dummy” Cartridge by W.R.A.Co.
Description: Nice .40-90 Sharps Necked board dummy cartridge manufactured by Winchester. These were used in the Sharps Model 1874 Sporting Rifles. They first appeared in the 1879 Winchester catalog and were gone by 1917. This example has a flat nose paper patched bullet, a 2.63” necked brass case, and a #1 oval brass primer. The paper patch has heavy soiling on the outside portion. There are two holes on the board side with a single punch crimp. There is no wood rod insert. There is some spotting with plenty of original lacquer remaining.
Headstamp: "W.R.A.Co. / 40-90” with an "S" scratched into the surface.
