Z7515 Winchester .50 Carbine Board Dummy Cartridge

Description: Nice example of the .50 Carbine "board dummy” cartridge manufactured by Winchester. These were used in the Berdan & Allin converted muskets. This round first appeared in the 1875 Winchester catalog and was gone by 1917. The headstamped version first appeared in the 1913 catalog. This example has a flat nose lead bullet, a brass case, and a #1 oval brass primer. There are two holes on the board side and a wooden spacer rod on the inside of the case. A nice example with a little spotting. The brass primer has drag marks on the surface.
