Winchester .32-40 Board Dummy Cartridge
Description: Nice example of the .32-40 "board dummy cartridge manufactured by Winchester. These were used in the Ballard No. 8 Union Hill rifles. They first appeared in the 1885 Winchester catalog and were gone by 1937. This example has a flat nose lead bullet, a necked brass case, and a No. 1 oval brass primer. There are two holes on the board side with a wooden spacer rod on the inside of the case. This .32-40 "board dummy” cartridge has plenty of the original lacquer finish with some spotting.
