Z7536 Winchester .44 Evans New Model Board Dummy Cartridge

Description: Nice example of the .44 Evans New Model "board dummy” cartridge. These were used in the .44 Evans "New Model” repeating rifles. They first appeared in the 1886 Winchester catalog and were gone by 1918. This example has a flat nose lead bullet, a brass case, and a #1 oval copper primer. There are two holes on the board side along with a wood spacer rod on the inside of the case. There is a crack in the case coming out of the hole closest to the projectile.
