Z8174 Confederate .40 LeMat Revolver Cartridge
Description: Scarce Confederate .40 LeMat revolver paper cartridge. These cartridges were used in the .40 LeMat revolvers imported from France. Each revolver had a cylinder that contained nine chambers.
This cartridge is in decent shape. It contains a round nose bullet with a single groove. The nitrated paper was attached to the base of the bullet with a single thread wound around the grooved bullet. There is a split in the paper on the backside of cartridge that has been repaired. This style with the rounded nose was manufactured at the Richmond Laboratory and by Eley of London. A decent example for the price!
