Z8158 Confederate Buck n’ Ball Cartridge
Description: Here is a very nice example of a scarce "Buck n’ Ball” cartridge associated with Confederate manufacture. Dean Thomas notes these as a 24-gauge cartridge. It contains a single ball with three buckshot at the rear of the ball. The buff paper wrapper is cemented at the nose and folded at the tail. Dean attributed these cartridges to being manufactured at the New Iberia or Alexandria Arsenals. A very nice example of a scarcer Buck n’ Ball paper cartridge.
Measures: D .595” OAL 2.747”
