Z8167 French 11MM Chassepot Needlefire Cartridge

Description: Decent example of the French 11mm (.433”) Chassepot cartridge with the linen covered powder charge. These were used in the Model 1866 Chassepot needlefire, breech-loading rifles known as the Fusil Mod. 66. This is a very nice two-piece paper & linen cartridge with the primer located at the rear. The front portion holds the projectile, and the rear portion holds the powder charge. This is a decent example with most of the linen cover remaining. There are some stains or sticky spots on one side which may be glue or adhesive. A nice cartridge to display alongside your M1866 Chassepot!
