Z8205 Charles Lancaster’s Umbrella Primer
Description: Nice example of Charles Lancaster’s "Umbrella” primer of the 1840’s. These were used on underhammer firearms, and the tinned umbrella or dome slipped over a bolster creating a tight friction fit. An excellent example with a little rust on the tinned dome.
Measures: OAL .675”
Reference: "The Development of Percussion Primers” S. James Gooding Figure 23
