Description: Nice, excavated Civil War era "Barrel Mustard” jar with an open pontil. This example is clean and has been lightly tumbled. There is one shallow flake/chip on the bottom edge right next to the pontil mark and may have occurred during manufacture. This example has four ribs for the bands. There are two curved panels on each side. The color isn’t clear or aqua. It’s more along the lines of a light gray. A nice, excavated example!
