Z8660 Civil War P-1853 Enfield Nipple Protector
Description: Excavated Civil War era nipple protector used on the British imported Pattern 1853 Enfield. These protected the nipple from damage and kept dirt and debris out of the nipple. This example is missing the iron ring on the end which would assist in attaching to the sling swivel. The exact recovery location of this item is unknown, but it is out of the Richard "Dick” Hammond collection of Virginia.
Measures: L 4.5” x W .60”
