Z8738 Sharps Patent Pellet Primer Tin for Lawrence Primer Tubes
Description: Nice example of the scarce Lawrence primer tube tin used with Sharps firearms. This two-piece container has a base with soldered seams and a separate tin sheet lid that is folded downward at the edges. Originally, these tins would hold 20 or so tubes of pellet primers. There is a row of five Lawrence primer tubes in the tin. Three of them are full with the wood chucks in place, one is full and missing the chuck, and the last one is an empty tube missing he chuck.
The tin lid is slightly warped in one corner. The container still retains the majority of the original paper label that reads, "SHARP’S / PATENT PELLETS / OR PRIMERS / Patented June 28, 1853.” A hard-to-find Sharps accoutrement when you need one!
