Z8767 "The Home Guide to Cartridge Conversions” Nonte 2nd Edition
Description: George C. Nonte Jr.'s "The Home Guide to Cartridge Conversions," second edition, published in 1967 by The Gun Room Press, serves as an extensive manual for firearms enthusiasts and handloaders interested in creating obsolete or hard-to-find ammunition. This 404-page hardcover provides detailed, step-by-step instructions on converting commercially available cartridge cases into a wide array of calibers, both foreign and domestic, for rifles and pistols.
The book is divided into sections that cover the necessary equipment and techniques for case conversion. It includes illustrations and tables of data to assist readers in understanding and performing the conversions. Notably, Nonte offers guidance on crafting specialized tools from common items, making the process more accessible to home gunsmiths.
While some information may be dated, many of the foundational techniques and principles remain relevant for those interested in cartridge conversions. The book has been praised for its comprehensive coverage and practical approach, making it a valuable resource for advanced handloaders.
This book would rate in good condition. It still retains the original dust cover but has surface wear with a few small tears. There is light foxing on the front few pages and back few pages with light foxing in the page ends. The pages inside are clean and legible.
