Z8927 Original Peters High Velocity Ammunition Tri-Fold Brochure
Description: Offered here is a vibrant and well-preserved original tri-fold advertising brochure from the Peters Cartridge Company, promoting their High Velocity, Target, Victor, and Rustless ammunition lines. This example was lithographed by the Henderson Lithograph Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. Printed in full color with striking period artwork and detailed product information, it serves as a classic example of early 20th-century American firearms advertising.
Inside panels highlight:
•Peters Rustless Smokeless Cartridges – Non-corrosive, clean-burning .22 rimfire ammunition, available since 1920.
•A wide range of metallic cartridges such as .22 LR, .25-20, .32-20, .30-30, .30 Rem., and more—including the innovative Protected Point Expanding Bullet for big game.
•Detailed cutaways of Peters shotgun shells:
oTARGET – "The All-American Shell,” ideal for trap and skeet.
oHIGH VELOCITY – Designed for hard-hitting, long-range performance with precision wadding and exclusive construction.
oVICTOR – A reliable and economical option for everyday hunting, known for excellent consistency in 12, 16, and 20 gauge.
The back panel features a repeat of the bold front illustration, making it suitable as a standalone display piece.
Based on content and design, this brochure likely dates to the late 1920s to early 1930s. In 1934, Remington Arms Company acquired the Peters Cartridge Company, which helps bracket its production. Additionally, the .22 "Rustless” ammunition box shown—with the code 2216R—was in production during this same period.
This brochure is in excellent overall condition, with bright, unfaded colors and sharp edges. A fantastic piece for collectors of vintage ammunition advertising, Peters memorabilia, or early sporting ephemera. Perfect for display, framing, or historical reference.
