Z8966 Civil War .56-56 Spencer Carbine or Rifle Cartridge
Description: Nice example of the Civil War-era No. 56 cartridge, commonly known as the .56-56 Spencer rimfire cartridge. This cartridge was used in the Army and Navy Spencer rifles, the Model 1860 Spencer carbine, the No. 56 Ballard, and the No. 56 Joslyn carbine. These cartridges were typically packaged in sleeves of seven, with six sleeves per box, totaling 42 cartridges.

This example features a pointed lead bullet with two cannelures and a copper case. The case has a few spots and the bullet doesn't have any oxidation.
