Z9055 24 Ga. 1901 Shotshell with WRACO Headstamp
Description: Nice example of the 24 Gauge "WRACO / 1901” headstamped N.P.E. shotshell. The 24- and 28-gauge shells first appeared in Winchester’s 1904 catalog in this 2-1/2" length. This example features a red paper case, a brass cup with three smooth cannelures (or corrugations), and a ringed primer pocket fitted with a Winchester "New No. 4” primer.

By 1918, the red 1901-series shells were no longer in production. This specimen retains uniform coloring and has just a few small spots on the brass cup. A very nice and desirable early shotshell, especially with the "WRACO” headstamp on the 1901 series base.
