Z8911 Post-WWII 7.62x25 7.62 Tokarev Cartridge - PRC
Description: Nice example of a post–WWII 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge, manufactured in the People’s Republic of China (P.R.C.) in February 1953. The 7.62mm Tokarev cartridge was originally adopted by the Soviet Union in 1930 for use in the Tokarev pistol and various submachine guns such as the PPSh-41.

The cartridge is based on the 7.63×25mm Mauser, though they are not interchangeable—the Tokarev is loaded to higher pressures and is considered more potent, making it unsuitable for use in firearms chambered for the Mauser round.

This Chinese-made example features a full metal jacket (FMJ) bullet seated in a brass case. The case exhibits a dark tone with some surface spotting, typical of mid-20th century Communist Bloc ammunition production.
