Z9071 9mm Steyr Cartridge by Sellier & Bellot 1917 (FMJ/AP)
Description: Nice WWI-era 9mm Steyr cartridge manufactured by Sellier & Bellot. Also known as the 9x23mm Steyr, this cartridge was developed for use in the Steyr M1912 semi-automatic pistol, which was adopted by the Austro-Hungarian military in 1912 and widely issued during World War I.
This example features a full metal jacket (FMJ) bullet with a magnetic steel core, often classified as armor-piercing. It is loaded in a brass case with a flat brass primer. The headstamp is marked "II / 1917 / SB", indicating production by Sellier & Bellot in February 1917.
A solid example of a WWI-era military cartridge from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Although Sellier & Bellot is now based in the Czech Republic, during this period it operated within the Austro-Hungarian Empire—not yet Czechoslovakia, which would not exist until late 1918.
