Z9119 Confederate Infantry Button – Local Copper Back
Description: Decent example of a Confederate two-piece Infantry button. The face features a plain Roman "I” on a smooth field with a false border. The front is brass, while the back is constructed of copper—typical of Confederate "local” manufacture, meaning it was produced in the South during the war rather than imported.

This specimen shows a dull, aged patina with some light surface spotting near the lower edge that carries over to the reverse. The copper stand-up shank remains perfect and intact. A solid example of a true Confederate-manufactured button.

Backmark: Blank with a continuous inner ring along with an outer ring of dots.
Measures: 23 mm
Reference: Albert CS182, Tice CSI243B1
