12 Ga. Western Super-X Window Shotshell - OB
Z9131 12 Ga. Western Super-X Window Shotshell - OB
Description: Scarce 12 Gauge Western Super-X "Window” shotshell. This unusual and highly collectible cartridge was produced as a salesman’s sample and demonstration round, often marketed for law enforcement, prison, and riot control applications. It is loaded with single-0 buckshot, visible through a clear "window” in the paper case wall that allows the payload to be displayed.
The shell features a dark red paper case with bold sidewall markings reading "WESTERN / OB / SUPER-X.” The clear viewing panel remains intact, showing a few oxidation spots on the exposed lead. The shell is topped with a protective crimp designed to withstand repeated chambering and unloading cycles, a feature particularly useful in prison environments where shift changes required constant cycling of weapons.
The high brass head is fitted with a primer (punched on this example) and displays one corrugation at the top and three at the base. Overall, this is a scarce and desirable example of Western’s innovative "window” shells—made to catch the eye of buyers and salesmen alike.
