Z9162 French 9mm Bergmann-Bayard "STAR” Ammunition Box

Description: Nice, full, and sealed packet containing twenty-five 9mm Bergmann-Bayard (also known as 9mm Largo) cartridges. This two-piece box is wrapped in faux wood grain paper with a full wraparound seal in the same pattern and topped with a yellow label printed in black. It was manufactured by Société Française des Munitions (SFM) of Paris, France, under the "STAR” brand for automatic pistols. A small white tax sticker with black print remains affixed to the side.

The box is in overall very nice condition, with a clean and legible label. There is some typical light shelf wear, and the top label shows minor edge wear. The printed label reads:

"25 / CARTOUCHES / POUR PISTOLET AUTOMATIQUE / ‘STAR’ / (Cal. 9 m/m) / FABRICATION FRANÇAISE / SOCIÉTÉ FRANÇAISE DES MUNITIONS / 50 RUE AMPÈRE – PARIS (17e).”

This is a commercial packet of 9mm ammunition produced for the Spanish Star automatic pistols. The cartridge itself is known by a wide range of synonyms, including:

•9mm Largo

•9mm Star
