Z9169 Rare .32 Short Smith & Wesson Cartridge – Phoenix Metallic Cartridge Company
Description: Offered here is an exceptional and very scarce early example of the .32 Short Smith & Wesson cartridge manufactured by the Phoenix Metallic Cartridge Company of South Coventry, Connecticut. Intended for use in the .32 S&W Automatic Ejecting revolver, this round features a brass case with a beveled head and the distinctive raised "Phoenix” headstamp—a style strikingly similar to the raised Remington headstamp of the same era.
It is loaded with a round nose bullet displaying a single exposed cannelure, neatly crimped into place, with the copper primer intact. The case shows only minor age toning with some light discoloration and a few small spots on one side, but overall condition remains very fine.
Cartridges bearing the raised Phoenix headstamp are extremely rare, and this specimen represents a highly desirable addition to any advanced collection of early American metallic ammunition. A seldom-seen opportunity to acquire a true rarity from Phoenix Metallic.
