Z9199 .45-70 Rifle Cartridge (R/4/82/F)
Description: Offered here is a very nice example of a .45-70 rifle cartridge manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in April of 1882. This is an internally primed centerfire cartridge utilizing the Benet priming system, with two crimps securing the copper cup in place.

This is the rifle loading, featuring a 405-grain bullet over the full service charge of 70 grains of black powder. Produced during the later Indian War period, it stands as a highly desirable specimen for collectors of U.S. military ammunition.

The copper case shows natural age toning with some scattered spotting and a few very small, nominal dings. Overall, a very nice and well-preserved example of a .45-70 rifle cartridge from the Indian War era.
